Interim Head of Commercial Finance | Bristol (1day/ week in office) | 6 months | £60k - £80k

The Opportunity


We are partnering with an ambitious, rapidly growing international organisation based in Central Bristol to recruit a Head of Commercial Finance on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for permanent conversion.
The organisation is entering a pivotal phase of growth and operational evolution. This role is designed for a change-orientated finance leader who can drive continuous improvement, optimise financial systems, and lay the strategic groundwork for future international expansion. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and leading a team of 3 Finance Business Partners, you will sit at the commercial heart of the business—turning data into actionable insight and embedding robust planning frameworks across global operations.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the multi-year financial planning, annual budgeting, and global consolidation processes, developing scalable rollout models, scenario analyses, and cost-recovery frameworks to optimise financial performance.
  • Overhaul global management reporting and KPI dashboards, translating complex metrics around value for money and indirect cost recovery into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership, trustees, and donor stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems and data tools by utilising NetSuite, streamlining planning and analysis workflows, and integrating financial software with CRM platforms.
  • Lead, mentor, and empower a team of 3 Finance Business Partners while building financial capability and promoting accountability across budget holders organisation wide.

 

Your Profile:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with proven experience in senior commercial finance, FP&A, or Head of Finance positions within fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Hands-on experience optimising modern ERP systems and financial modelling architecture (NetSuite experience is highly desirable).
  • An assertive, innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, process automation, and building scalable finance infrastructure.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a track record of cultivating trusted relationships across C-suite, non-finance budget holders, and global teams.
