A unique opportunity to join a fast growing and privately owned services firm in South Wales as Finance Director. The group has gone through significant growth over the past 5 years, with new projects and investment, they’re seeking a Finance Director to assist the owners and management team in the next stage of the business life cycle. You will be an ambitious qualified accountant, with rounded experience and ideally with a background in commercial finance / business partnering.
The Role:
To oversee all corporate financial aspects of the fast-growing group. You will provide support and guidance to the management teams, focusing on the business on operating metrics that drive growth and profit in the short, medium and long term. You will be responsible for a small team and all financial planning, analysis and commercial assessment of opportunities.

- Reporting to the MD and member of the Executive Committee
- Day to day management of 2 staff
- Timely production of management account packs, including full analysis and commentary
- FP&A including annual budgets, monthly reforecasts to reflect changing market conditions and weekly outturn projections.
- Reporting and analysing key operating metrics across the group, advising on corrective action as required.
- Statutory accounting requirements, corporation tax and company secretarial (all of which are outsourced to external accountants).
- Compliance returns, payroll HMRC, Banking, Insurance, etc.
- Business partnering with owner manager and fellow committee members
- Effective cashflow and treasury deposit management
Your Profile:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Commutable distance from Newport (4-5 days in office)
- Ideally Financial Services / Insurance experience or from a heavily regulated industry
- Very strong communicator with previous business partnering experience
- Team leadership experience
